The Team welcomed Tracy to our ranks.
Anne reported that the Sunday School Curriculum has been ordered for next year. Cindy has given Anne a sample of a new curriculum called Shine On, which is Bible story based rather than lectionary based. She will be reviewing it as well as looking at cost. Anne has experience with a curriculum called Spark. For 2015-2016 school year we will continue to use the Seasons of the Spirt.
Camperships will go out next week. Anne believes there are 9 children going to Pilgrim Lodge and 1 going to Star Island.
Confirmation will be May 17th. May 8th is the Lock-In for Confirmands. They are seeking a photographer for that day. Trudi offered to be the photographer if no one else volunteers. Christine will get the cake for the Coffee Hour on Confirmation Sunday. The rehearsal for Confirmation will be the morning of. Anne will order the corsages. Coffee Hour will be in Guptill Hall.
Youth Group will meet once more for this academic year at Get Air on June 7th after church, around noon.
Game room, which is part of the Dream Initiative is part of Anne’s office and the painting is almost done. The Committee has not communicated the time that it will be available to children. This should be communicated to Anne and EF&G prior to the opening.
Vacation Bible School update. Part of the curriculum has an app that goes along with it. Anne is looking into if this is viable or not. Registration opens May 10th for church members. Sue Stevens has volunteered to be Registrar. It will open to the public a month later. The plan is to have VBS in Guptill Hall so decorations and props can be left for the week. It will run June 22nd through June 27th. Several volunteers are starting to come forward to help Anne.
Children’s Celebration Sunday is June 7th which is also Founders Day. The music is being chosen, as well as the Program design.
Gail Dransfield is seeking help from Sunday School for donations for the Food Cupboard. Kids are collecting food the weeks leading up to Children’s Celebration Sunday and will bring them up at the offering.
Anne is working on developing Sunday enrichment for Summer Sunday School. Nursery help will be the same as past years. EF&G will pay a teenager (8th Grade or higher) $10 for the morning.
Elinor Redmond has resigned from coordinating Coffee Hour. EF&G thanks her for her hard work and dedication for the last two years with this challenging task. EF&G will resume the rotation between members to coordinate sign up and send reminders, as well as stock the kitchen. If no one signs up, only coffee will be offered.
Homecoming Barbecue pre-planning was discussed. Someone needs to ask the Eskimos if they will grill. Anne has the diagram of how the tables are to be set up in the parking lot. Tom will need to be asked to set up the tables. Someone will need to call Beal’s to ask for ice cream donation. List of food items to be donated will need to be put up in the Narthex in August. Paper products should be reviewed, however we think we only need plates. This will be further discussed at the June meeting.
Judy will begin the coordination for Lemonade on the Porch. She will create the sign up and an article for the Beacon. Someone will need to send reminders out for the first three weeks as she will be away.
Next Meeting: June 4th
