Our class schedule allows children a great opportunity to join together with other classmates in a socially fostered and hands on curriculum for the students. We provide a nurturing experience for children ages 2 1/2 to 5 years that allows the younger ones to start out within their own classroom.
Our 2 1/2+ year old program consists of 2 mornings a week from 9-11:30 a.m. We focus on separation and socialization. We work on a shape and color of the month and introduce the children to circle time with stories, singing and sharing.
Our 3 1/2+ year old program meets 3 days a week from 9-12:00 p.m. We are a hands on child centered learning environment that focuses on sharing, problem solving with peers and recognizing our name and letters of the alphabet. We also focus on a letter of the week and have monthly themes which we base our projects on. Our focus is to get the children at The Discovery Center ready for Kindergarten where they can be successful in all areas.
Our PreK program is loosely based on a Kindergarten classroom and meets every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9-12:30 p.m. We continue to work on our letter recognition, have an author of the month and work on independence while preparing them for Kindergarten. Children will also bring their lunch to school and have lunch with their peers as part of their day.
As a nonprofit school we do tend to have one of the most affordable tuitions compared to some other preschools.
For 2014-2015, the monthly tuition is $205 for 2 1/2+ year olds, $260 for 3 1/2+ year olds, and $375 for PreK class. Tuition is due the first of each month, September through May.
A $50 registration fee is required to enroll your child for the school year.
