Call to Order – Deb called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. Per the rotation schedule Guy will record this meeting and run the next meeting.
Minutes of the Admin Team June 10, 2011 meeting: reviewed and accepted as written.
OLD BUSINESS:
Finance: Things are looking good. The year is at 67%, the budget is a little behind at 64% on income. Expenses are looking good at this time.
Tenant Update:
509 Sawyer Road house, we went over the emails from June on the Dog and Cat issues that talked about eviction. After discussion, we decided to evict her on grounds that she is not following the lease. We will sent a letter to her and give her one month, till October 2, 2011 to leave the premise, but this will depend on our date we send the letter. She had mentioned to Cyndi that she had not read the lease, this after us telling her last year that pets were not allowed when she brought a dog in. We will notify the council first and then send the letter.
331 Cottage Road came to us in mid-summer looking for a reduction in rent as the business was not doing well, which we did. It was $1200 a month, now $1000 a month.
329 Cottage Road is upset that we allowed 509 Sawyer to have a cat and not her.
Evacuation Routes: We’ll have soon; Tom is working on them.
Insurance Review: The renewal happens this fall and we will renew with our current carrier, and then review during the year.
Church Member Concerns: As was discussed in emails this summer, Nancy MacLean had a few members mention the cleanliness of the bathrooms. We decided that it was a Personnel committee task and Ellie is on that committee and will discuss with them. Ellie will also talk with Tom. We also need to make sure Tom is talking with Aaron.
Jim Otis will remain as our Council coordinator for this year.
Committee Reports:
Counting: Chair Peggy Murray, no word at this time, all seems well. Jim will call Peggy.
House: Chair Guy Gledhill. This summer 509 Sawyer was sided and new front and rear deck put on; the Discovery play ground has a new fence; our sign out front has fallen due to rot. It is in the progress of being fixed; we also talked about the Photo copy machine which was replaced this summer. BEU sold us the unit; it is a used one with a warranty.
Oil, which we discussed, right now we are paying 10 cents over rack. Cyndi will contact Fredrick Brothers to see what that price is now and do they have a fixed price rate.
Jim thought we should get an energy audit, which House will look into.
Gardening around the church has no committee, we are having a yard man come in and clean up the yard for the winter. We will put a notice in the Beacon come January;
Planned Giving: nothing at this time; Ron Bennett will stay on this committee.
NEW BUSINESS:
WCSH Channel 6 was discussed. It was decided that it was a cost to us and money for them. Also that it was not proven to work. Scott will call Elsa.
